House No. 88, built by Bartle Pangerl in 1829-1831, is part of a compositionally impressive cluster of 5 similar houses that gave this part of Rožmberská Street or the name of the city is Pětidomí. Not only in the old picture from the Seidel photo studio, this part under Křížový vrch with the baroque pilgrimage chapel in the as yet undeveloped area of Horní Brány looks very dominant. Rožmberská street has always been an important trade link through Rožmberk nad Vltavou to southern Europe in the past.
The historical value of these 5 buildings is now primarily urban. Among the preserved details of No. 88, the door with wrought iron bars leading from the street to the basement (currently under reconstruction) is particularly noteworthy. Ch. the entrance door is a faithful replica of the original, which has also been preserved. Casement windows with exterior sashes and casements are also original renovated features. Monument protection applies to the entire house, which corresponds to the concept of a cultural monument according to § 2 and 42 of Act No. 20/1987 Coll. on state monument care.
